A Fresh New Look for Back on Track

Back on Track has had another amazing year - 2015 was our most successful year yet. We have made leaps and bounds toward building a better future for men struggling with addiction issues here in Surrey, and our successes can be measured by the number of men who are staying clean and living a more productive life through our program.

NEW EXPANSION

The FORTRESS AGAINST EVIL

Our newest addition to the BOT experience - appropriately called, the FORTRESS - features four very modern homes on a single property. We will be moving our two homes that are closing to this location, as well as our offices. Featuring 20 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, 4 ground floor patios, 4 rooftop patios, a courtyard, office space, food storage area, gym/weight room, and a meeting room, the FOURtress will accommodate 40 beds, allowing us to help even more men seeking recovery and a better life. Centrally located near hospital, King George station, Surrey Centre Mall and other amenities makes this an ideal location.

Our Successes

At the time of this post, Back on Track is currently housing 46 men, of which:

  • 50% of our current clients have been clean and sober for more than 60 days

  • 26% of our current clients have been clean and sober for more than 6 months

  • 11% of our current clients have been clean and sober for more than 1 year

  • A large number of alumni and friends also exist in the community, having left BOT to pursue a life beyond our walls.

We are very excited about our upcoming changes and our recent successes. Please stay tuned in the coming months for more great updates from BOT.

BOT UPDATES!

recovery day sponsor.jpg

Hello to all of our friends and everyone reading this right now. As the weather outside changes, I sit and reflect on how quickly this summer has passed. Back on Track has gone through a lot of changes itself this summer, for the better. Here is what we have been up to:

Summer Activities/Events

We took our guys out to many events this summer to show them a little "fun in recovery". We hit the beautiful beaches of Buntzen Lake, went camping with our friends from Pathway to Freedom at Vedder River in Chilliwack, attended Clean Sober & Proud, and the SOFA NA Beach Bash... Just to name a few. The guys had a lot of fun.

House Three, PerDiem

One year ago, on August 1st, Back on Track House One became the first of our houses to be fully licensed and recognized by the Assisted Living Registrar as an approved supportive recovery facility. Then came House Two on November 1st of last year. Finally, House Three - just newly opened in October of last year - became a fully recognized and licensed facility on August 1st, 2015! We are very excited about the completion of this process and look forward to being able to help more people, with more houses, in the future. Be sure to stay tuned for that.

Community Action

Back on Track is currently in the works of creating Community Action as part of our ongoing programming. We will be looking to work with local non-profits and community support agencies to give back to our communities. Please stay tuned for more information.

Recovery Day Vancouver 2017

We are pleased to announce that BOT will be participating in this years high popular and quickly growing Recovery Day Vancouver. We will be down there talking with people about what we know (and do) best, recovery. If you come down, stop by our table to say hi! It will be held at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver on September 20th.

Back on Track, Staff dinner

From left to right: Cole (Owner/Director), Dylan (House Manager), Scott (Director), Jerry, Jesse (House Manager), Danny and Robynn (Director/House Manager)

Back on Track had its first ever staff dinner last night at La Baia Italian Restaurant in White Rock. It was great food and a lot of laughs, and a little bit of business talk too!

Batters Up!

Today, guys from Back on Track got out and had some fun on the baseball diamond. Everyone had loads of fun as we practiced for our first gentlemen's game of the year against John Volken Academy, tomorrow (April 12, 2015) at Unwin Park in Surrey.

The two societies will be meeting once a month for a friendly match of softball, the winner taking home gloating rights.

Join us tomorrow - weather permitted - and cheer us on as we take on the guys from JVA. Start time is at 12 noon.

Hope to see you there!

Celebrating 2 years clean!

Daniel L.

Daniel celebrates 2 years of continued clean-time today. He is an absolute asset to BOT and a role model for the newcomer. He is an inspiration to us all - Great job, Daniel.

Please come celebrate with us on Wednesday, March 18 as Daniel takes his cake at our regular EDI Club 'Back on Track' meeting, located on the corner of King George Blvd. and 73 Ave. The meeting starts at 7:30pm.

BOT UPDATES!

Welcome to 2015 everyone, we hope your having a wonderful year so far. We have been so busy over here at BOT that we haven't sent out a message in some time, so we thought it would be neat to let you in to what is going on for us lately.

Now a proud father...

Cole Izsak, owner and director of Back on Track, had his baby boy on December 22, 2014. Baby Jasiah was born at Surrey Memorial Hospital, weighing in at 7 lbs 10 oz and in perfect health. Congratulations to Cole who is a first time father.

Zero Tolerance

At the beginning of the new year we launched the much awaited Zero Tolerance program. This is a program that studies the mechanics of addiction with innovative discussion, bookwork and studies. Our information is studied very carefully before being presented to our residents and is compiled from multiple sources and key researchers who are on the leading edge of addiction study in many different fields. We currently only offer this one of a kind program at our House 1 location but are anxious to begin offering it at our other locations in the very near future.

Clean Time Announcement

Just this past week we celebrated some huge milestones that we would like to recognize. Dylan S celebrated 1 year of clean time - Congratulations Dylan! | Mark O took his 5 year cake - What an awesome job, keep it up! | Robynn Fergusson, Director of Back on Track also celebrated 5 years clean - Your an inspiration to many!

House 3 going per-diem

Its taken a lot of time and energy but we are nearly fully licensed in all three facilities with the Assisted Living Registrar. If you've been watching our progress, you'll remember that House 1 and House 2 became fully licensed back in August and November, respectively. House 3 is just weeks away from completing this process so be sure to check back in the upcoming weeks for that.

House 4

We have been so busy and we are constantly having to turn people down for lack of availability. Nothing is final yet but the idea is definitely being rolled around. Check back to see when that might happen.

--

We wish everyone a happy and safe 2015 and we look forward to many more updates coming up in the very near future :)

Today is a very special day for everyone here at Back on Track.  Director and Owner, Cole Izsak, is celebrating 3 years of continued clean time. Cole has been a leader and role model to many since first opening the doors of BOT.  His successes are apparent when you walk through the doors of our homes.

We congratulate Cole in his continued sobriety.

Cole will be celebrating his cake tonight at 7:30pm at our regular CMA "Flail Safe" meeting.

Third Stage House

Well, the time has come for Back On Track to make another big step into helping men recover from the disease of addiction. We are opening a third stage house on October 1st. This house will be designed to continue to provide a safe environment for men to live while allowing them to continue to seek recovery while transitioning back into every day activities such as work and school. We are excited for this new phase in our society and we invite you to contact us if you believe this type of living environment sounds like it may suit your needs.

Minimum requirement: 120 days clean

We will posting pictures of the new house in the coming days, be sure to check them out.
